Description

The extension is intended for filling [Configuration items] with additional parameters (hereinafter - Characteristics) of various types of data, depending on the selected type and category of [Configuration item].

The module is configured by filling the "Characteristics" lookup and linking the created Characteristics to the Categories and Types of configuration units.

For example, to create a [Configuration item] record with Type = "Computer monitor", it is necessity to specify the screen diagonal, matrix type and color depth. At the same time, these characteristics are necessary only for Configuration item of this type. The "Dynamic characteristics in configuration items" module allows you to create parameters of various data types with indication of necessity and default values, as well as link them to the corresponding types and categories of Configurations.

For a convenient search for lookups necessary for tuning, the “Dynamic characteristics” group has been created in the “Lookups” section.

Creating Characteristics

To create Characteristics, you need:

• go to [System Designer];
• open section[Lookups];
• find and open lookup " Characteristics";
• create records of the required Characteristics.

Lookup record

A lookup record consists of the following elements:

• Name: arbitrary name of the Characteristic;
• Value type: reference field indicating the type of the Characteristic. Contains the following values for selection:
  • Select from a list;
  • Date;
  • Fractional number;
  • Boolean;
  • Lookup;
  • String;
  • Integer.
